The 5 Best Restaurants for Valentine’s Day Brunch

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at NYU chapter.

This year, Valentine’s Day lands on a Sunday, which surprisingly, won’t stop many restaurants from closing their doors early, unless of course you’re willing to pay 50+ per person for a pre-fix dinner… Which, let’s face it, is a lot to ask from a college-budgeted relationship. Thankfully however, Sunday is also known as the best day to go to brunch. This late-morning, early afternoon meal is the perfect Valentine’s Day date idea for any couple, casual enough for budding romances, and special enough for long-time lovers. Here are a few restaurant ideas for the perfect Valentine’s Day sunday brunch:

For the Sweethearts:

Known best for their pancakes, Clinton Street Baking Company in the East Village is the perfect little place to indulge your sweet tooth. The only problem will be choosing from their pancake flavors; maine blueberry, banana walnut, or chocolate chunk. Their brioche french toast, topped off with caramelized bananas, roasted pecans and maple butter is also a must.

For the City Explorers:

The perfect spot for those who want to venture into a different borough from campus, Montanas Trail House is nestled the artsy neighborhood of Bushwick, Brooklyn. If there happens to be a long wait, not to worry, just leave your number and enjoy the street art. You’ll come back to expertly assembled savory breakfast sandwiches, or maybe an order of their delicious baked french toast.

For the Veggie Couple:

For those who want plenty of vegan options this Valentine’s Day, Blossom, located in the West Village, offers more than enough incredible dishes to choose from. Their French Toast is served with fresh strawberries and tempeh bacon, and their Huevos Rancheros consists of tofu scramble, corn tortillas, adobo sauce, tapioca cheese, black beans and ‘sour cream.’
