Sure the holidays are important for reconnecting with friends and family, but winter break is also a very much needed time to dive head first into a pool of your favorite TV shows. Whether it’s a new crime drama you missed while at school, or an old-school classic that everyone is newly raving about–it’s time to join in the conversation. And what better way than with a good, classic Netflix binge? Indulge – it’s your break after all! Just don’t forget to step outside of your room every once in awhile for some snack refills and a quick hello so your family knows you’re ok.

1. House, M.D. – (8 Seasons)

Fox

For fans of: Grey’s anatomy, ER, NCIS

What do you get when you combine one of the world’s top doctors, an imbalanced diagnostic team, extremely sharp wit, and a prescription drug addiction? Well, hilarity. And also heartbreak. Walking the wonderful grey area between a dark comedy and a mystery-solving drama, this is the kind of show that you’ll not only want to watch, but want everyone you know to watch as well. The best part? After a long binge, you’ll walk around feeling like you’re a top med student. If you don’t have time for all 8 seasons, pick one at random and go for it. The plot will have you captive at first sight with its classic dramatic opening scene and cool intro.

2. Master of None – (1 Season)

Netflix

For fans of: Parks and Rec, Louie, Portlandia

If you were anywhere near the Internet in the latter part of 2015, then you were probably witness to the cult following surrounding Aziz Ansari’s genius comedic creation. Cleverly tackling social issues in a contemporary setting, Ansari is not only generating entertainment, but also conversation. Plus, a millennial in New York figuring out the awkward transition into adulthood? Frankly, we can relate. Ansari is sure to keep your mood up when the weather is low.

3. The Tudors – (4 Seasons)

BBC

For Fans of: Reign, Game of Thrones, Downton Abbey

Welcome to the King’s Court – King Henry VIII’s, that is. If you find yourself drawn to historical and period pieces, filled with drama, scandal, lust, intrigue, and betrayal, then meet your newest addiction. Filled with fan favorites as lead actors, (I’m looking at you Natalie Dormer, Henry Cavill, and Sarah Bolgers), you’ll love seeing some of your current favs all together in a brand new setting. Like Game of Thrones, this show is pretty ruthless about killing off your most beloved characters in the name of historical accuracy. You’ve been warned.

4. The Fall – (2 seasons)

Netflix

For Fans of: Dexter, The Killing, Luther

Everyone was witness to the powerful rise of Jamie Dornan as a leading man in 2015. Fifty Shades of Grey anyone? If you also can’t enough of this charming and handsome Irish native, we’ve got you. Dornan is perfect in this dark, psychological thriller. He plays a father and husband leading a double life–as a serial killer. Follow his hunt for his next victim and Detective Gibson’s hunto to catch him. The delectable, anxious thrill from watching this cat and mouse game will have you hungrily going through every episode. And with only two seasons? Very doable. Find out just how skewed your moral compass is as your alliances shift.
