Three ways to enhance your “20 somethings” looks

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at NSU chapter.

Yea, I get it! You’re in your prime time in your college career and you still feel and look like the little teenager you once were, but this time you’re stuck in your 20s trying to figure out what’s next in life. The time in your career where you’re ready to show people from back home that you have become this sophisticated young collegiate women. Trust me you’re not alone, this is something that we go through every day, and it’s definitely something to get over. Whether you know it or not, being able to have confidence in your 20s is something no one can take from you. On my 20th birthday, I was told that I still looked like I was 16 and from that point on I knew that there had to be a CHANGE in at least something. If your issue is similar to mine, don’t worry I’m here to tell you that there is a way to enhance your beauty in your 20 somethings.

Try new hairstyles

Retire your old hairstyle that you’ve been rocking since the 7th grade; change it up a little! The most important thing is to find something that makes you feel fierce and empowered. For starters, color always enhances the face and increases confidence honey! In addition to adding color, change the parts in your hair.  Currently, the classic middle part is taking the world by storm so pull out your comb, and try it. Remember, a subtle change can make a monumental difference. If you want to go bolder, try the cut life. Pixie cuts are classic, and enhance every feature on your face (especially if you have cheekbones that reach the heavens). Lastly, you can never go wrong with extensions. Extensions give you the chance to try almost any style without touching your real hair. Don’t be afraid of change especially when it comes to your hair.

Add a little pop to your face

If you’re not a makeup person like me, it’s okay to add a little pop every now and then. Some of the easiest ways to practice is watching YouTubers like @MsAaliyahJay and @DanielleMansuttie. When I first discovered that it was time for a change appearance, I started with lipstick. Lipstick is the perfect way to enhance the entire face without putting on anything else. One choice is the famous ombre lip, your best lip for outings and fun with friends and family. Once you get your lip combo together, add some mascara or eyeliner to the mix, or invest in some lashes if you don’t want to deal with your own. In my opinion, those three tips are perfect ways to get your makeup lifestyle started.

Change up your accessories

Be honest here, do you still have baby stud earrings on your dresser? Let it go, sis! Don’t get me wrong, I love the tiny studs just as much as a the next girl, but I had to let it go. Jewelry is the most important accessory to your style of clothing. Have you invested in a purse? Throw away the cross body purse and invest in something classic, like a clutch.  A clutch shows confidence and boss mentality. Heels are also an important part of your style, and of course, we can’t forget the famous booties. Don’t be afraid to step your style up and be the change of your 20 somethings. You got this
