Top Spots for Nottingham Foodies

Whether you’re a wide-eyed fresher eager to explore the city, a content second year looking for an excuse to dine out with housemates, or a desperate third year clinging to your last chance to experience your home away from home, all of these dining destinations should be on your Nottingham bucket list.

Pudding Pantry

A favourite with Instagrammers, they serve decadently topped hot chocolates, luxurious milkshakes and delicious homemade cakes. Their breakfast and weekend brunch menu is also worth checking out, with the pancakes, available with a variety of toppings, proving a solid favourite for all students.

Oscar and Rosie’s

This small independent pizza company serves up big portions – and we mean big. They’re best known for their ‘pizza by the metre’ option, allowing you to enjoy a variety of toppings with friends as your meal stretches across the whole table.

They also serve an indulgent mac n cheese, ranging from the classic to the ham hock and smoked mozzarella.

However it’s also worth noting their commitment to using award winning, free range and locally sourced produce where possible. This means you can eat well and feel good about it – not that students need any persuading!

Toast

An attractively decorated deli café, they are open from breakfast through to late lunch. This means they can specialize in the ultimate brunch food, serving freshly baked bread which fills the room with an enticing aroma, accompanying your early morning feast.

Whether its smoked salmon with scrambled eggs or a warming bowl of organic porridge, they will kick-start any day before you retreat to Hallward library for some serious studying.

Annie’s Burgers

With the owners born and raised in Rhode Island, they’re looking to bring a true taste of America to the East Midlands. Their extensive burger menu features traditional favourites like BBQ sauce or cheddar, whilst more adventurous diners may sample ‘The Elvis’ (peanut butter and jelly topping) or ‘The Vermonter’ (sandwiched with pancakes and bacon!).

All of their burgers are also available with vegetarian and vegan alternatives, so there’s something for every palate and wallet!

Coco Tang

This ‘secret world of cocktails’ offers a more sophisticated space to catch up with friends over a few inventively created and artistically served drinks.

In an underground boutique bar and club setting, their student nights and happy hours invite you to relax in a booth and sample a collection that includes fruity and dessert inspired tipples along with seasonal specials.
