Halloween is one of my favourite holidays – who doesn’t like dressing up? There are a lot of ‘couple costumes’ for sale but since Halloween isn’t the most romantic of holidays, I know a lot of Collegiettes would much rather go with their bests! Any girl with any hair colour can wear these costumes. Below are just some possible hair colour matches! These costumes are available in fancy dress shops and on Ebay, but there are also some things that can be found locally or in your own wardrobe!
The Blonde and Brunette;
The White Swan and The Black Swan
For the White Swan – A white corset/tutu can be found on Ebay whilst Luv Ya Babes in Nottingham’s Victoria Centre sells beautiful masks. Add some light makeup and if you want to go all out – ballet slippers!
For the Black Swan – The same as above but everything in black! Finish with lots of dark makeup!
Catwoman and Supergirl
For Catwoman – Start off with a black catsuit (possibly from boohoo) or black dress/playsuit (any black clothes), drawn on whiskers (black eyeliner) and cat ears from Luv Ya Babes or Accessorize (all in the Victoria Centre!). If you want to add an extra prop you could buy a cats tail off Ebay.
Supergirl – Rent a Supergirl costume from The Fancy Dress Bank. Otherwise – a Supergirl t-shirt tucked into a red skater skirt with a yellow belt! Don’t forget the red cape and red boots!
Wicked
Glinda – A puffy shiny pink dress, a wand and a crown will do!
Elphaba – Go crazy with the green body paint, black dress and a pointy witch’s hat!
The Two Brunettes;
Batgirl and female Robin
Batgirl – Try tall black boots, black dress/skirt +top with a yellow belt and a stuck on batman emblem. Don’t forget your mask!
Robin – For a homemade costume, try a green skirt, a red corset (with a R sticker on it) and a yellow cape!
Mario Brothers
Mario Brother 1 – Blue dungarees, red top and red cap (with an M on it!)
Mario Brother 2 – Exactly the same with Brother 1 but the top and cap in green!
Ginger and Blonde;
Devil and Angel
Devil – A red dress, horns and a pitchfork. The horns are only £1.99 at Luv Ya Babes! Top tip: don’t try red lipstick as it’ll be hard to match your dress!
Angel – A white dress of your own, a halo and wings (Ebay!). Try sparkly or plain white nail varnish and finish off with lots of light makeup.
Ginny Weasley and Luna Lovegood
Ginny – A Gryffindor cloak from Ebay, a Gryffindor scarf from Luv Ya Babes at £6.99 and a black dress underneath. Don’t forget your witch’s hat and Gryffindor tie!
Luna Lovegood – A Ravenclaw Cloak, scarf, tie and witch hat! (Ebay). Remember she has messy hair and wears crazy earrings and wacky glasses!
This can also be done for brunettes by adding in Hermione! Luv Ya Babes sells wands for £3.99, a Snitch for £3.99 and a Sorting Hat for £6.99
Any colour;
Witch and Cat
Witch – A black dress, witch’s hat and possibly a broomstick!
Cat – A cat suit or black dress, cat ears, whiskers and a tail.
Cops and Robbers
Cop – Luv Ya Babes sell a woman’s PC hat for £2.99, a badge for £1.99 and a scarf for £1.99. The costume can also be found on Ebay.
Robber – Black and white striped dress or top. Stripy leggings can be found at Luv Ya Babes for £5.99 and the handcuffs are £2.99!
