Top 3 Budget Highlighters for Pale Skin

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Nottingham chapter.

Here at Her Campus Nottingham we couldn’t be more excited about Autumn and the return of crisp leaves, cosy jumpers and plum lipstick shades. But the reappearance of a pale and dull complexion? Not so much. However, you don’t have to delve into your student loan to save your skin. We’ve tried and tested three products that’ll be sure to bring a bit of glow back into your life, each for under a tenner.

1. Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter in Peach Lights

The subtle peach tone in this product warms up the complexion without washing you out. It’s highly pigmented and really does give you that pearlescent glow, without any unwanted sparkle. The powder consistency applies well over the top of a foundation base with a soft fan brush. This one works best as a versatile day-time highlighter and, is an absolute make-up bag essential for only £3.

2. Barry M Illuminating Strobing Cream in Frosty Pink

The pink undertone to this Barry M bargain complements pale skin perfectly, giving you just enough radiance to achieve an overall healthy glow (even when the infamous Fresher’s flu hits). As a strobing cream, it also looks great blended along the bridge of the nose to sculpt your face. It’s also buildable, meaning you can transition from day to night with a quick top-up to get that party-appropriate champagne sheen. At just under a fiver, it’s definitely a firm favourite with us.

3. Soap and Glory Glow All Out Highlight & Sculpt Cheek Stick in Ice Shimmer

This budget pick is a cream formula and looks best when buffed into the skin with a duo-fibre make-up brush. It provides an eye-catching shimmer perfect for illuminating cheekbones, under the brow and the cupid’s arch for a long-wearing look. The silvery tone to the cheek stick is great for very fair skin, especially when teamed with a rosy blusher, and a natural matte contour shade. It also comes in at just £8.

TIP: To maximise your glow, use a good moisturiser and a radiant, medium-coverage foundation with your highlighter of choice.

The product we’re rocking this month: Rimmel’s Kate Moss Matte Lipstick in Wine

So, why not brighten up your day (and your face) by treating yourself this Autumn semester?
