The Proof Is In The Pudding Pantry! A Foodie Review

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Nottingham chapter.

As a foodie, I’ve always been keen to try new places to eat, and after hearing so many people rant and rave about it, I knew I had to visit Pudding Pantry. Although its name suggests that this café only serves desserts, it also serves breakfast, brunch and lunch too!

Located within Nottingham City Centre with aesthetics that resemble a French bakery, I can honestly say this is one of the cosiest cafes I’ve ever visited. What sparked my interest the most with this place was that their food selection even caters for vegetarians and vegans. As I have friends which have specific dietary requirements, I was thrilled to find out that Pudding Pantry was somewhere that I could take them.

The Pudding Pantry menu is broken up into different categories: puddings & milkshakes, pancakes, brunch, summer drinks, gourmet hot chocolates, afternoon tea, coffee and tea, and a kid’s menu.

Their diverse range of Artisan coffee is guaranteed to satisfy all you coffee lovers, and my personal favourite coffee is their white mocha (a double espresso blended with real white chocolate and textured milk). Being quite a big fan of coffee myself, I’ve tried the white mocha in quite a few different coffee shops but I am yet to find one which tops the excellent blend that Pudding Pantry has on offer.

If you’re a fan of hot chocolate, you will not be dissatisfied with their gourmet selection, whilst the classic offering is served with whipped cream, chocolate sauce and chocolate pieces. The presentation of all their drinks is beautiful whilst also tasting amazing.

Pudding Pantry is well known for their brunch menu, which is served until 4pm every day. When I visited the café, I ordered The Full Pantry which consists of two American style pancakes with maple syrup, smoked streaky bacon, homemade beans, garlic mushrooms and your choice of scrambled or fried egg. If you appreciate a good fry up and you’re super hungry, I would definitely recommend ordering this!

The rest of the brunch menu has a diverse range of foods such as croissants, bruschetta, and toast with various delicious toppings. The options for vegans and vegetarians are clearly labelled (VG or V) and you can even request your order to be gluten free if you inform your server.

Pudding Pantry also has a vast selection of fluffy which are available until 30 minutes before closing or all day! There is even a list of toppings which can be used to create your own style if you don’t fancy any of the combinations on the menu.

I hope this has given you a taste of just how amazing Pudding Pantry really is, but you really need to try it for yourself to get the full experience!
