Following the success of their Harry Potter themed afternoon tea which we featured last year, Nottingham’s Colwick Hall are launching their next enticing event – Potty for Peter! Drawing on the tales of Peter Rabbit and his friends, this innovative dining experience ties together childhood nostalgia and sophisticated treats to spring you into the new season.
Talking about creating this next theme for diners, Executive Chef Lee Morledge said, “Understanding the flavours and spirit of Easter approaching, our bunny themed tea seemed the natural selection”. The event also coincides with the upcoming movie release ‘Peter Rabbit’, starring James Corden, Margot Robbie and Daisy Ridley amongst other famous faces.
From February 1st, guests are invited to put the frosty winter weather behind them as they sample all the best flavours of a traditional country garden. A selection of sandwiches are followed by “Squirrel’s Savoury Treats” including a garden soup and creamy cheese pie.
Then comes the main event – “A burrow of sweet surprises”. Here bunny tail meringues are served alongside acorn donuts, plant pot chocolate muffins, and a carrot and ginger cookie we’re sure Peter Rabbit would be anxious to nibble at himself.
Starting at just £15 per person on selected weekdays, diners will also be offered the usual tea and coffee to supplement their treats. However special cocktails will also be available at an additional price, with a mojito punnet available for £20 which includes four different spring-time flavours.
For those with a sweeter tooth, bunny tail ice cream floats are also available and come topped with cotton candy, whilst Byron’s Boozy Bunny tipples include an Amaretto Hot Chocolate served with whipped cream and almonds, proving that childhood tales can truly be transformed to delight grown-ups as well.
