Whether you are a first year living in halls, or you are living in the houses in Lenton, I’m sure you will agree that Nottingham has been absolutely freezing recently! And it’s not looking to stop anytime soon. It will still be cold after Christmas – probably even colder. So a hot water bottle is definitely a worthwhile addition wherever you go. It’s a brilliant way to warm up without wasting money on the electricity bills at home. They are all over the high street, and check out Primark; there are some great ones.
2) Umbrella
Nottingham – famous for lack of rain – really hasn’t been living up to its reputation recently. This is an absolute nightmare for us unprepared students who did not bring an umbrella with them in September, so this is a must for Christmas.
3) Festive Jumper
Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without a huge, unflattering, and quite frankly embarrassing festive jumper. This one is a bargain at £15 from boohoo.com:

4) A flying alarm clock
If you are anything like me, you will find any lectures/seminars that start before 11am painful to wake up for, especially if you have been partying the night before. But fear not, never again will you have to miss your 9 am lecture, or run into your 10am seminar in a random assortment of the first clothes you could find. 5) Dry Shampoo
This is in case you don’t receive the alarm clock (or find the power button). Every girl’s best friend is dry shampoo. When you’re running late for a lecture and don’t have time to wash your hair, simply spray in the shampoo and you’re as good as new.
