Whether you’re into Korean pop culture or not, you must’ve come across a picture of a flawless K-idol at some point. And since it’s not really an option to pop over to Korea and browse its make-up stores, we’ve picked out some fantastic alternatives available right here to recreate the latest Korean make-up look!

Korean foundations are famed for giving your skin a gorgeous glow but also tend to be lightweight to create a natural finish.

The L’Oréal Nude Magique BB Cream (£10.99 at Superdrug) feels like a moisturiser at first, but its clever pigment capsules adjust to your skin tone soon after application, providing just the right amount of coverage. Simply apply it with your fingers and you’ve already got the base to your look!

The gradient lip is popular not only in Korea but here, too. The Body Shop’s Lip & Cheek Stain (£8.00 at The Body Shop) in Dusty Rose is great because you can use it to mirror the colour of your lips on your cheeks: a classic Korean make-up move.

Start by moisturising your lips with your favourite lip balm and wiping off any excess. Dot the stain on the centre and inner parts of your lips and use a lip brush to slowly spread the colour outwards, leaving the rim of your lips uncoloured.

If pink and subtle is not really your thing, don’t be afraid of using a bolder shade of the stain across your entire lips as striking lip colours are becoming much more prevalent among Korean celebs these days.

The doe-eyed look is another classic, but gone are the days of using white eyeliner and lots of shimmer. Korean make-up artists are instead opting for a more subtle technique to create the illusion of bigger eyes.

Use the Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner (£8.99 at Superdrug) in black to line the top lid, creating a slight flick. Then use the brown version to line just the corner of the bottom eyelid, making sure the lines don’t touch.

Curled lashes are another must to widen the look of your eyes. But if you don’t want to bother with those pesky eyelash curlers (and let’s be honest, who does?), invest in a good mascara to amp up the volume.

Benefit’s Rollerlash Mascara (£20.50 at Boots) creates a curl that lasts for twelve hours and is also waterproof.

As for brows, the simple straight and dark look has made way for an arched and light one. So pluck, thread or wax those babies and apply a light dusting of L’oreal Brow Artist Pomade (£9.99 at Superdrug) in brunette.

All that’s left to complete the look is a dusting of eyeshadow, with playful reds, pinks and corals being the latest trend.

Kiko’s Bright Duo Baked Eyeshadow in 01 (£7.90 at Kiko) is perfect for creating a gradient eye to match your lips. Apply the satin coral to your lid and the pearly pink to your crease, blending at the midpoint.
