After a long hard week of finding themed outfits for the various Student Union run events, it comes down to the ‘Freshers’ Finale’: where we can go back to our normal clubbing attire (with a hall t-shirt on top, of course!). This event saw Blonde, M.O and the great Fuse ODG take to the stage at the Motorpoint Arena for the final University of Nottingham freshers’ event.

Our chosen best-dressed student for Campus Style this week, Polly Watson, opted for a Motel Rocks gingham co-ord. Both the top and trousers were bought from the new and improved version of Ebay: Depop, where she got both items for less than half of their original prices. Polly also wore her clear reading glasses which really emphasised the very 60’s feel of her outfit. Her hair was pulled back into a messy ponytail that works to show off her silver Tiffany necklace and earrings. This look, paired with some plain but cute black ankle boots (a must with cigarette trousers) and even more silver jewellery, was perfect for the event a stunning mix of smart and casual.

Me: What inspired your outfit today?

Polly: I wasn’t really inspired, it was more a spur of the moment thing. I felt like I had to have something dressy but something that wasn’t too revealing or over the top and this felt perfect. Also, I’ve never had the chance to wear this set yet and I felt like the end of Freshers was perfect.

Me: What piece of clothing / accessory completes your outfit today and why?

Polly: I am a big jewellery fan. I feel like my outfit wouldn’t really work without my bracelets and necklace. I never go out without this necklace – it makes every outfit feelmore special I guess, like more dressy. But I guess I also have to say the co-ord makes it of course, as it all matches and that completes the 60’s or 70’s look I’m trying to create (laughing).

Me: What clothing item/ accessory can’t you leave the house without?

Polly: I’d say my necklace of course! But after that, I’d have to say my black ‘The North Face’ puffer jacket! It is perfect at this time of the year because it’s not too heavy and also perfect for the weather.

Me: Finally, where is your number 1 place to buy your clothes from?

Polly: My favourite place to buy clothes would have to be H&M: I’m a massive fan of their simple stuff, like their jumper and striped dresses or skirts. Also its way more affordable than Topshop and Urban Outfitters.
