On Sunday the 28th of February the 88th Oscars award ceremony was held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. As per usual, the red carpet was one of the most exciting parts of the night as hundreds of glamorous celebrities turned up in their custom made dresses and tuxedos. This year was truly star-studded with Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Winslet, Charlize Theron, Matt Damon and many more showing up to celebrate the best in film. We’re sad that award season has finished, but at least this Oscars ended on a high, and it was more fashionable than ever before.
First of all can we just appreciate the fact that Leo finally got an Oscar! The Revenant star was also the best dressed male star of the night in a Giorgio Armani suit and patent Christian Louboutin shoes.
Cate Blanchett wore the most beautifully intricate Armani Privé dress, embellished with Swarovski crystals and flowers. She also wore Tiffany jewellery to match her light blue floral gown.
Winner of the Best Actress award for the film Room, Brie Larson, wore a bright royal blue Gucci gown with unique ruffles and an embellished jewel belt detail around the waist. She event matched the belt to her hair piece which secured her half-up, half-down look.
Jennifer Lawrence looked amazing as always in her sheer lace black Dior Couture dress with peplum details. We loved her sleek straight blonde bob to match this sophisticated look.
Last year’s Best Actress award winner, Julianne Moore, wore a stunning and elegant custom Chanel Haute Couture gown, with black lace detailing and crystal embellished straps.
Charlize Theron wore a plunging red Dior Couture dress with Harry Winston jewellery. The Mad Max: Fury Road actress looked like a true Hollywood bombshell with her strappy mermaid style dress with a long train.
Jennifer Garner looked graceful in a draped shoulder Atelier Versace dress. The flowing satin material and embellished details really made this dress stand out.
Priyanka Chopra stole the show on the red carpet in her white lace Zuhair Murad dress with floral detailing and a belt around the waist. Her dark berry lip really complimented her outfit.
Rachel McAdams went simple and classic with a silk green August Getty Atelier dress. The long side slit and train looked incredible on her.
Rooney Mara looked glamorous in her white lace Givenchy Couture dress, with a diamond cut-out in the centre and ruffled slit down the middle.
Sofia Vergara impressed with her navy strapless Marchesa dress with black jewel embellishments. She looked so regal and sophisticated, especially with her chic up-do.
