6 London Food Spots You Have to Visit

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Nottingham chapter.

With our Instagram and Facebook feeds constantly filled with snaps around the world that are guaranteed to cause not only serious food envy but wanderlust, I’ve rounded up a few top spots worth visiting in our very own capital. Add a few of these to your summer bucket list!

Peggy Porschen Café

This picture perfect café, located in London’s Belgravia, serves freshly prepared cakes with elegantly arranged layers. Dainty portions are served on doll-like plates in a bright and breezy setting, available with tea and coffee or even a glass of Rosé Champagne.

Steam and Rye

With Gatsby inspired American décor, complete with live music and dancers, this bar and restaurant is the perfect end to any day out in the city. Uniquely named cocktails are served in everything from a movie theatre popcorn holder to a cowboy boot! Traditional concoctions are also available alongside the more daring specials topped with whipped cream, sprinkles and miniature popsicles!

Joe’s Southern Kitchen

Based in a converted warehouse that spreads a bar and restaurant across two floors, this American joint offers their own twists on signature Deep South dishes. Classic chicken, served one of four ways, can be enjoyed with a comforting side of mac n cheese, before digging into desserts including Banana and Oreo Pudding or Pecan Pie. Stretchy jeans are recommended for this one!

The Good Life Eatery

If you’re looking for something a little healthier, but equally as aesthetically pleasing, you should probably check this place out for a feel-good brunch spot. The owners want their customers to feel not only healthy but happy after sampling food that tastes as good as it looks. Serving up cold-pressed juices and smoothies alongside acai bowls, quinoa porridge and paleo waffles, they guarantee a great start to your day.

Cookies and Scream

Starting out as a stall on Camden Lock, the overwhelming popularity of this vegan-friendly bakery has led to them opening up a permanent cookie bar. Every item is dairy, egg, wheat, and gluten free whilst promising to be low fat too! Despite all this, they somehow they manage to produce delicious donuts, brownies pies and cakes that foodies just can’t get enough of! A range of ‘Scream Shakes’ are also available, made fresh on site for you to enjoy.
