The leaves on the trees are turning red, orange and gold; the nights are drawing in; you’re pulling out your warm coat and ankle boots- it can only mean one thing: autumn has arrived! Forget Hallowe’en and Bonfire Night though, there’s another reason to get excited about this cosy season and that’s all the cute dates you can plan to make the most of this autumn. Here are five perfect ideas for you and your partner to enjoy:
Number One: Picnic in the park with warm blankets and hot drinks
A picnic in autumn?! It might sound a tad chilly, but as long as you bring plenty of blankets and hot chocolate you won’t mind the weather at all. Instead, you and your partner can examine the pretty autumnal scenery together and enjoy all your delicious food at the same time.
Number Two: Snuggle by the fire with a film
Good film? Check. Popcorn? Check. Snuggly blankets? Check. Then you’re all set for a cosy night-in in front of the fire with your favourite film playing and your favourite person beside you.
Number Three: Make an Autumnal Treat
There are plenty of foods which suddenly become more accessible when the weather turns colder, from toffee apples on Bonfire Night to the popular American toasted ‘s’mores’ in front of the fire. Whatever your preferred tasty autumnal treat is, why not try making it yourself? You and your partner can have lots of fun making them together, and then you get the best part: eating them!
Number Four: Watch a horror movie
With Halloween being the perfect time for scaring yourself stupid, why not watch a horror movie? Remember that you and your partner can always comfort each other in the tensest parts!
Number Five: Go for a long walk or drive
There’s no better way to appreciate the lovely colours of the trees than to get out amongst them yourself. Go for a long walk with your partner, or maybe go for a road trip and listen to your favourite music as you admire the scenery together. After all that exercise you will surely deserve a treat: head to the nearest coffee shop together afterwards to enjoy a warming drink.
