Whenever florals are mentioned my mind replays Meryl Streep in The Devils Wears Prada delivering one of her many piercing insults – ‘Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking’. However, as we are not yet in spring, it’s time to talk about winter florals. The catwalks and high street have been full of them for a few years now and there is nothing better than these dark but pretty prints to liven up a dull day or outfit.1. ASOS Dress This bold printed dress from ASOS proves that flowers don’t have to be tiny and cutesy. The graphic print makes it perfect to wear in the evening with a leather jacket and your best heels.
2. Zara Shirt I would wear this shirt with a pinafore, dungarees or black skinny jeans. It’s casual enough to be equally as great for either work or the day at university, when you want to wear something nicer than a jumper and trainers.
3. Topshop Bag If you want to inject a few winter florals into your life without the possible danger of looking like a walking florist, then this little handbag from Topshop is perfect . I especially like the folksy, bohemian feel which contrasts with the harder black leather for an interesting and original look.
4. Missguided Trousers I love the oranges and blues on these trousers from Missguided which would look great with a white shirt or a grey jumper to balance out the busier print. The model in this picture is wearing heels but to make the outfit more casual and winter-proof, chelsea boots would be a great match.
