South Bend winters are infamous for their snowy days, freezing nights, and permacloud filled skies. However, we often forget to appreciate the beauty and style opportunities the winter weather affords us. So, if you’re suffering from mid-winter SAD or looking to bring a little fire back to this cold climate, here are some gorgeous makeup looks to show off this winter season.

Classic Beauty

This simple, yet sexy makeup look is a classic go-to this winter. The sultry red lip and slight cat eye are reminiscent of Marilyn Monroe, but can be toned down enough to wear as a daring everyday look. One of the best things about the fall and winter seasons is the opportunity to incorporate darker and bolder shades into your everyday makeup pallette, so go for it! Save the natural look for the summer and break out the red lipstick and liquid liner – I guarantee you will be turning heads.

Brown Bombshell

If the red lip wasn’t enough for you, try embracing your inner ’90s child this season with this unique brown lip color. This throwback may have seemed a little dated a couple years ago, but browns are officially back and better than ever. This rise in popularity is largely due to the famous lips of Kylie Jenner and the multiple brown shades of her Kylie Lip Kits. Though these liquid lipsticks are constantly sold out, here are a number of beautiful dupes that will only leave your wallet feeling the difference.

Glitter Goddess

Winter is also a time for glitz and glamour. Forget the bronze glow of summer and embrace the opportunity for a glitter-filled winter. Though the recent death of Feve has hurt this look’s chances of becoming your Thursday go-to, it is still a stand-out for the winter and spring formals coming your way. This gorgeous gold look will bring a sparkle to your eye reminiscent of that of the Golden Dome, and any date will be an awe at the sight of your flawless winged liner. (However, pay attention to the weather forecasting – if there is a chance of any precipitation, stay away from liquid liner that tends to melt away at the slightest bit of moisture. Instead, try a more reliable gel liner and an angled brush.)

Lived-In Liner

If you’re not up for the fuss of liquid liner this season, try going for an edgier lived-in liner look. This eye makeup requires minimal effort with striking results. Who knew messy makeup could look this good?

So, whether you’re going for a bold lip, a sexy cat eye, or embracing the natural look, put your best face forward this season and have some fun with your look. Makeup is an amazing tool for self-expression and the cold winter weather gives us an opportunity to show a different side of our style.

So remember to go bold or go home this winter season!
