Alright collegiettes, fall is rapidly approaching, and that means it’s time to talk about fall beauty looks!

My go-to for the season is always a bold lipstick. Crisp weather and fall fashion always seem better when paired with a showstopping lipstick, and through my years as a makeup addict I have compiled a list of my favorite shades.

Nars Semi Matte Lipstick in Red Lizard

Red Lizard is a deep red with blue undertones and is absolutely beautiful with very intense pigmentation. It can be hard to apply accurately, so have makeup remover or concealer on hand. Once it sets, it has great staying power. This is the color I reach for when getting ready for a night out.

Revlon Super Lustrous Creme in Fire & Ice

This color is seriously the best.

It’s a great orange-red that is bright and classic without being overwhelming, and it is a complexion brightener in a tube. Revlon also makes a nail polish in the same shade– if you’re into the matching lips and nails look. It’s the perfect complement to a sleek, retro black cat eye.

MAC Mineralize Rich Lipstick in Lush Life

When I think of fall, I think of berry lips, and this lipstick is my absolute favorite dark berry shade.

It’s bold, rich, and not too purple, which is an issue I frequently have with berry shades. MAC lipsticks are pretty drying, so I make sure to apply lip balm first. I wear this shade with nothing but mascara so my face doesn’t look too makeup-heavy and the focus stays on the color.

Tarte LipSurgence Tint In Joy

Of course, I don’t wear red lipstick every day!

For a more natural and subtle look, these Tarte lip tints are the “Holy Grail” of a product. The formula goes on like a balm and feels so light and natural. The sheer color lasts throughout the day. I love wearing this peachy shade with a bronze or gold smoky eye, or with a minimal makeup look in order to look both natural and put together.

MAC Prep + Prime

This product isn’t meant to be used by itself, but it works wonders as a primer under eyecatching looks. It’s a great moisturizer, since many matte lipsticks can be drying, and it extends the lasting power of anything you apply over it. In addition, it actually makes shades look brighter and more intense.

Happy lipsticking, ladies!
