Only other Domers can truly understand the incredible friends, people, and experiences associated with being a Notre Dame student. As fun as the Notre Dame experience is, however, your heart will always miss that best friend from back home. Despite the distance, you two continuously text, talk, Skype, and visit in order to maintain your beautiful relationship. From the purchase of the plane ticket to the goodbye, being reunited with your best friend can be one of the biggest roller coasters of emotions experienced.

And waiting…

Waiting at the airport and the time couldn’t go any slower!
Finally, they’re here!
The drive home is full of conversations
And you take advantage of every second of the day.
You’re so tired, but you don’t want to sleep because you don’t want to miss out on another second with them.
And despite the time and difference, you notice you two pick right back off where you left off
And continue to do the weird things you’ve always done together
And even though the goodbyes are sad
And you’re even sadder that you don’t know when you’ll see them next,
You know that you’ll always be friends, and nothing can ever change that.
We are so lucky to have people that make the distance and time worthwhile!
