In honor of all the women out there who fight to get recognized and respected, here’s seven of the best songs that embody the strength and importance of women in our society.
1. Run the World (Girls) by Beyoncé
This is the classic girl power jam. It’s also impossible to listen to without dancing a little.
“Strong enough to bear children—then get back to business”
2. Don’t Save Me by HAIM
Haim is part of the T Swift girl clique and these sisters embody what it means to be powerful and strong women. Preach it, girls.

3. Hard out Here by Lily Allen
This is ~not~ a clean song (or video) but it’s so hilarious and true. Listen to when you feel like you’ve been wronged by someone of the male sex.
4. ***Flawless by Beyoncé
Ok, we’ve already established that Beyoncé is the queen when it comes to girl power. Flawless is another song that really takes a look at what it means to be fierce.

5. Sit Still Look Pretty by Daya
Daya is a 17 year old who’s recently emerged in the music world and has us loving this catchy song with a great message.
“No, I don’t want to sit still, look pretty.”
6. Love Myself by Hailee Steinfeld
