In case you didn’t know, the Navy-Notre Dame football game has been played annually since 1927 – it’s the longest uninterrupted intersectional rivalry in college football. This year, the Irish beat the Midshipmen 41-24.

During World War II, the US Navy made ND a training center for V-12 candidates. Like many all-male institutions at the time, ND was suffering financially, so the Navy’s intervention helped the University a great deal.

The schools continue to have a great friendship.
