Five Binge-Worthy Recommendations from an FTT Kid Part I

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Notre Dame chapter.

As cuddle weather quickly approaches our beautiful campus here in Notre Dame, Indiana, we find ourselves frantically searching for binge-able shows to watch instead of tackling our school work. As an FTT student, I pride myself on knowing and recommending good shows to watch, yet I also have the tendency to enjoy some pretty crappy shows as well. With all of this in mind, I have compiled a list of the good, bad and cheesy for you to test out!

Imposters

This show has it all. If I can watch it with all of my family members, it just has to be good. The story of a woman who cons men (and women) into marrying her just so she can ruin their lives and run off with their money is both hilarious and suspenseful. The characters are extremely fun and loveable to the point where you’ll have a lot of trouble trying to turn off this gem of a show!

Scream

Based off of the slasher movie, this series is incredibly bloody AND cheesy. It’s one of those shows that you know is horrible but can’t stop watching because you need to know what happens next. I highly recommend watching the original film before diving into this spooky series, as an understanding of where some of the plot points come from makes the show much funnier… Spoiler alert: don’t watch season 3… it literally has nothing to do with the first two seasons.

Cheers/Frasier

Everyone is preaching about how much they love Friends, yet these two shows are the OGs. Cheers is the precursor to Frasier, but you don’t have to watch it before to enjoy the show. They’re both hilarious and easy to watch—something to turn on while you’re doing busy work or need to relax.

Revenge

This show came out when we were fairly young, but it’s still so relevant. If you’re into thriller-dramas, then this is your cup of tea. Following a woman’s revenge on the family that had her father killed when she was only 8 years old, this show has many unpredictable twists and turns… and hot actors.

Arrested Development

It might take a little while to get into it, but Arrested Development is both hilarious and ridiculous. The series follows a dysfunctional family who is plagued with their father’s embezzlement scandal. Most of the episodes end on cliffhangers, and the show is meant to be a satire, so don’t get too frustrated if it seems super weird and confusing. This series was so important to fans that after FOX decided to cancel the series, Netflix picked it up and continued the madness. Sit back and enjoy the ride.

That’s it for now! Happy watching everyone!
