Does the cover photo look oddly familiar? That’s because it’s from 2006 when the Irish took on Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl. This year is set for a rematch, this time with No. 7 Ohio State Buckeyes to face off with the No. 8 Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
The last time the two teams played, it ended with a loss for the Irish.
A disappointing season for both teams, who were gunning for the National Championship Playoffs.
However, the game should be a pretty good one.
The Buckeyes are not unfamiliar with the Fiesta Bowl having appeared there 6 times before. With a 4-2 record there, it’s like a second home.
With a continually impressive defense and potential for the offense to have gained some confidence, Ohio State is a force to be reckoned with.
In comparison, Notre Dame has been having a couple of rough games, with a disappointing show at BC and a sour-tasting loss to Stanford.
Still, Notre Dame has a lot of potential and has done pretty well considering the amount of injuries this year.
If both Notre Dame and Ohio State show up to play, this could be an outstanding game. Here’s to hoping.
