Bring It On: Jeremy Trevvett ’18

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Notre Dame chapter.

I met Jeremy during Farley’s Frosh-O activity with Stanford Hall on my first Sunday night of freshman year. He was scared and alone, I was scared and alone; it was fate. We quickly became the best of friends (despite a brief period last year when we weren’t on speaking terms due to a heated debate about the meaning of race vs. ethnicity) and the rest is history!

Name: Jeremy Trevvett

Year: Sophomore

Dorm: Stanford Hall

Major:  Finance, Psychology

Hometown: Canandaigua, NY

Extracurricular Activities: Varisty Cheer Team, College Republicans, Volunteer Community Service

Nicknames (be ALL-INCLUSIVE, worm): Jerm, Jerm the worm, OG worm, Jer, Jer Bear, J Bird, J Trev, JT, Jay, Trevvett

Favorite quote: “In life you have three names: your family name, the one your parents give you, and the one you make for yourself.”

What makes Stanford Hall so special?

The people.  I love the group of guys because they are genuine people and not everybody is the same, but our diversity in personality is what makes our interactions so great.

Athlete Role Model: Derek Jeter

What made you decide to try out for the Cheer team?

A bunch of guys on the team are from my dorm.

Fave girls team at ND: Lacrosse

Many of your Stanford Hall counterparts have a man crush on Greg Lupica. Give us a few words about him.

We love his individuality and mostly his Insta-caption game.

How has the Cheer community impacted you?

The team is a close-knit group of people that we can all be our silly selves around. They make long days of studying fun when I can take a break to go to practice, and I know I can count on them for anything.

What is your favorite thing about being on the ND cheer team?

The team itself.  It’s a great group of people of which I am very thankful to be a part, and we are all there just to get better and have a good time. Spending half of our day together has made the group very close and I know that these memories will be ones that I carry forever.

Favorite cheer memory/experience so far?

One day at practice when we made up roughly 10 handshakes for various people.

Describe your favorite SB weekend (including Thursdays) hotspot in one word: Bars.

How has your roommate (varsity Fencer Paul Cepak) enhanced your ND experience?

Paul is a great counterpart to me because we get along really well but our different personalities play off each other. We have a blast, especially playing jokes on our other friends in the dorm.

Y/N: Is Paul Colletti a good RA or nah?

Tell us what it was like growing up on the reservation in NY:

I love it because of the change of seasons. The best part is the lake days in the summertime, just relaxing on the boat.

What’s your favorite thing about ND (other than the townies, duh)?

Tradition.  It’s in everything that we do.

How excited are you for the publishing of this article?

Not at all.

Don’t be fooled, guys. Jerm is very excited to be making his Her Campus debut at the hands of his best friend, yours truly. Be sure to look for him on the football field next season tearing it up with Gregopotamus!
