Meet our latest Campus Celebs, two Badin Beauties who have some interesting insights on Notre Dame (and on one another). Anna hails from sunny California and has a self-proclaimed infatuation with Taylor Swift, while Ally hails from central Illinois and dreams of designing luxury homes (or becoming a professional surfer, whichever comes first). On any given day you can find this week’s celebs playing highly competitive games of Fun Run, complaining about South Bend weather, or watching extensive amounts of Netflix. Read on to discover the witty humor that the rest of Badin has been #blessed with since Fall 2013.
Name: Anna Machuga
Major: Psychology, Minor in Business Economics
Hometown: Laguna Niguel, CA
Family: Sister (Julia) is 17, Brother (Michael) is 14, and my golden retriever’s name is Lucky! (He’s my cuddle buddy when Ally isn’t there)
Hobbies: Dance fitness seshes with the roomies, avid goldfish eater, Taylor Swift enthusiast, practicing my Cali swag, College Mentors for Kids.
Dream job: Swimsuit designer or professional hand model.
How did you meet Ally? One night during freshman year, I was at a dorm party when I spotted Ally talking to my future bae. I went up to her and asked “Who do you know here?” in true baseball house fashion and then I punched her in the face. I then slid into future bae’s dm’s and we lived happily ever after.
Describe Ally in three words: Asian, lazy, funny
What is your favorite thing to do with Ally? Watch New Girl, play Fun Run, and snuggle in Ally’s bed all at the same time.
Why is Badin the best? The best girls on campus live there! Also we have a porch and a sun lamp and we are also starting a petition to get Ally to leave Badin which would make it so much better.
What do you love most about South Dining Hall? Four cheese pasta and the sandwich melter
Are you studying abroad? If yes, where and what are you most looking forward to? I’m studying abroad in London next spring like our fantastic author and my roomie Alex (hmu fellow Londoners). I’m looking forward to being in the city surrounded by British boys (that accent tho).
Describe South Bend weather in one word: Death.
Favorite spot on campus? Sitting on Bond quad by the lakes when it’s warm.
On a scale from one to insomnia, how bad is your Netflix addiction? I have an emotional attachment to Friends (currently on Season 5).
And now, Ally
Name: Ally Chang
Major: Accounting (and I kinda wish Italian but not really)
Hometown: Peoria, IL aka P-Town
Family: Brother (Michael) is 26 and lives in LA #jealous
Hobbies: Swimming (drowning) at The Rock, President of the official campus-wide Eminem fan club, snuggling with Anna, LeadND, Irish Fighting for St. Jude
Dream job: I want to be a popstar but I can’t sing, but that’s a minor problem. Also, I want to design luxury houses. Also, I want to work at Nike. Also, I want to be a surfer.
Why is Badin the best? Because it’s small but mighty, and everybody knows each other. The only improvements would be having air conditioning and if Anna didn’t live there.
How did you meet Anna? I stumbled upon some Badin Bullfrogs at a dorm party freshman year because we were all trying to capture the attention of one extremely attractive junior boy. Anna and I got into a full-blown yelling match until I eventually punched her in the face. I got the boy.

What’s your favorite thing to do with Anna? We like to snuggle in my loft and talk about boys and play Fun Run.
What do you love most about South Dining Hall? Mardi Gras strawberries and the panini press.
Are you studying abroad? If yes, where and what are you most looking forward to? I’m studying abroad in China this summer and then I’m headed to Fremantle, Australia for the fall semester. I’m obviously most excited about living five minutes from the beach in Australia.
Describe South Bend weather in one word: Tears.

On a scale from one to insomnia, how bad is your Netflix addiction? Let’s just say I’ve watched all six seasons of Gossip Girl three times through.
