She embraces her post-baby body
Just months after giving birth to her first child, Chrissy was already posing for Sports Illustrated. She has embraced her stretch marks, often showing them off in her Instagram posts. Chrissy has made it clear that she thinks moms should embrace their post-baby bodies no matter how insecure they might be.
She’s not afraid to fight mom-shamers
Chrissy has faced her fair share of mom-shamers, but she is never afraid to fight back. After giving birth to her first daughter, Luna, she was criticized for going out to dinner with her husband. Of course, she fought back saying that all moms deserve a break, especially right after giving birth. She recently made fun of the criticism by mocking husband John Legend for going to the BillboardMmusic Awards right after their son, Miles, was born.
She is open about her struggles
After giving birth to her first daughter, Chrissy dealt with postpartum depression, but she wasn’t ashamed to talk about how she felt. In an article she wrote for Glamour she said: “Just know that there’s a light on the other side. When I was in the midst of everything, I could never imagine myself on the other side of it. Now, I’m able to look at September, October, November, December and shake my head at how dark and crazy of a period it was.”
She still needs her own mom
Chrissy’s mom lives with her and often serves as a nanny to her kids. Even though she is a mom herself, she still needs her own mother to help along the way. Chrissy isn’t afraid to let people know she seeks help from the one person who taught her everything about being a mom.
She doesn’t try to be perfect
Chrissy does not try to be the perfect celebrity mom. Yes, she’s famous, yes, she’s married to John Legend and yes, her kids are absolutely adorable, but at the end of the day, Chrissy Teigen is a mom just like anyone else.
