Street Style Feature: Art Basel

Street Style: Art Basel Edition

Lucky for me, while I wasn’t actually able to attend Art Basel, the annual art event held in Miami, Florida that brings together the international art world through a variety of events and parties, my parents were. The snowbirds that they are, escaping the cold North and hibernating in sunny Miami for the winter, my parents have capitalized on the opportunities and events available in the area, such as the sought-after event of Art Basel. Below are features of some of the street style stars, artists or small exhibitions that caught my parents’ eyes through their endeavors.

My mom immediately stopped when sighting the art and fashion designer Sylwia von Walls. Walls is featured wearing her own designs of turquoise sequined shorts and a white tank top paired with a pop of a bright yellow bra! For more information on Walls, check out her website here http://www.sylwiavonwalls.com/.

From Berlin, this artist, whose name is unknown, was sporting a tulle beige skirt, moccasin embroidered boots and a necklace/body chain over her vintage tank top. “She had such a unique and interesting sense of style,” said Debbie Myers, my mom.

Street style star, Tanya Johnson, originally from Miami, is pictured wearing a Harley Davidson custom leather vest and knee high Stuart Weitzman boots. “She looked artsy and edgy,” Myers said.

Lastly, these four women were seen modeling prior to entering the Context Art Miami Show. Their colorful array of rain boots, rain jackets and umbrellas were show stoppers, displaying the company, Cuarto Colorado’s mission “to change the color of the gray days through the fusion of art and fashion,” Cuarto Colorado said.  The company was established 10 years ago in Buenos Aires.
