Spring Fashion Styles to Sport

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Northwestern chapter.

Spring has sprung and if you’re anything like me, you returned home from spring break with a whole new suitcase filled with your favorite spring clothing. While the past week has not been particularly spring-y, the rare sunny days give us all hope that the April showers will soon pass and Northwestern students will finally be able to whip out their spring clothing ensembles. In anticipation for those better days, here are four looks you should be excited to sport this spring:

The Casual Look

Nothing says spring like boyfriend jeans rolled up to your ankles – yes, weather permitting, we can show off our ankles! Pair these pants with a lightweight, long sleeve shirt with a simple pattern like stripes or polka dots. Throw on some sneakers and a bomber jacket for this casual and trendy look.

The “I Tried” Look

Spring is definitely a season you can spend five minutes or less getting ready for class and still look cute. Throw on a skirt, graphic tee and a light sweater and you are good to go. Also, no need to put away your booties quite yet – you can also rock them when there isn’t snow on the ground. Shocker.

The Going Out Look

Show off those newly acquired tan lines with an off-the-shoulder flouncy top paired with white jeans and rockin’ booties. You will go out every night feeling confident and flirty!

The Weekend Look

Spring is the time for florals and fun prints. Now a days, sun dresses are replaced by rompers. Embrace this opportunity to be comfortable with a romper and strappy sandals. Perfect for a sunday brunch or a shopping day in the city.
