With the election in full swing, Northwestern women pulled out their favorite red, white and blue for this week’s Sheridan Street Style to show their patriotic spirit. Some women chose to wear jeans and navy, while others rocked more pronounced red, white and blue. Some women weren’t as patriotic, but whether or not they were wearing a Hillary shirt, their trendy versions of denim and navy ruled the streets.

Name: Hannah Hellebush

Year: Second year at Kellogg School of Management

Favorite Fall Trend: Ponchos

In order to show her patriotism, Hannah Hellebush, a graduate school student, decided to wear her striped red, white and blue J. Crew shirt. She can’t wait to pull out ponchos for the Chicago cold after leaving undergraduate at Duke University. Her booties also add a very stylish but casual sense to the outfit that really pulls the outfit together.

Favorite Fall Trend: Mom Jeans 

Senior Christie Sui looks super stylish in her blue denim jeans and long peacoat, both from Zara. Her Ralph Lauren boots and belt helped to bring her look together and add interesting layers between the high waisted jeans and long jacket. This season she is loving mom jeans, and they are loving her right back – she’s rocking them!

Favorite Fall Trend: Frayed Bottom Jeans and Velvet Everything! 

Saskia Naegele wore her Hillary Clinton screen printed shirt to show her support for Clinton and paired it with her on-trend Levi’s denim jacket. Her Sandro platform sneakers add an extra flare to the outfit, especially with the cutoff of her jeans. Naegele is excited for jeans with frayed bottoms and velvet clothes of all sorts.
