Facebook Campus Gave Our Chapter the Perfect Opportunity to Bond

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Northwestern chapter.

After a long quarter of Zoom University, we at Her Campus Northwestern decided it was time for our members to de-stress and bond. Thanks to Facebook Campus, we had the perfect opportunity to do so.

Facebook recently launched Campus, a college-only space for college students to interact with one another and meet new friends. Features like a college-only news feed, campus directory and new ways to chat help you form new connections and stay in touch with your fellow classmates and club members.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it’s more important than ever to connect with people and stay involved in campus life. Luckily, Northwestern is one of the first universities to roll out Facebook Campus, and we couldn’t wait to try it out.

On Dec. 4, HC Northwestern partnered with Facebook Campus to host a bonding event for our club members. This gave us the opportunity to celebrate all the hard work we put in throughout the quarter, despite the virtual format.

For the event, we held a virtual Northwestern trivia night using Kahoot. It was a super fun way to destress and bond as finals week was coming to a close. This event was a great chance to bring our members even closer together and catch up before winter break.

After hosting the event and exploring Facebook Campus, I highly recommend the platform as a way to meet new people and stay connected with campus organizations. I’ve really enjoyed scrolling through the Campus section of my Facebook and connecting with my classmates. If your school is on this list, link your Facebook account to Campus and check it out!
