The 7 Best Halloween Costume YouTube Guides

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Northwestern chapter.

Looking for a Halloween costume to rock, but struggling to find the right idea? The best place to find some easy and affordable options is always YouTube. Every year, as soon as September ends, my subscription box is flooded with every beauty guru and lifestyle vlogger uploading some kind of costume guide. Some of the options are DIY, and others can be found for cheap prices on websites like Amazon and eBay. Hopefully these videos will give you spooky inspiration for picking out your Halloween costume this year!

AlishaMarie – 20 DIY Halloween Costumes 2017

This video is the perfect combination of classic costumes (like a nerd) and less-traditional ensembles (such as “holy guacamole”). While Alisha didn’t include any tips for making each of the costumes, most of them are pretty self-explanatory.

Niki and Gabi – 8 DIY Duo Halloween Costumes for Couples, Best Friends, + Sisters

Niki and Gabi’s selections for costumes are on-point with today’s cultural phenomena and sense of humor. From the iconic Stranger Things duo of Mike and Eleven, to the punny pair of Taco and Belle, these ideas are ideal for anyone looking for a trendy costume to rock with their best friend (or partner).

LaurDIY – DIY Halloween Costumes 2017

Lauren is the master of DIYs – it’s in her YouTube handle, after all. Her costume suggestions are unique and include step-by-step instructions on how to make every item. This is the best video if you want to be a DIY queen this Halloween.

Roxxsaurus – Trying on eBay Halloween Costumes Under £10

DIYs can still be challenging to accomplish on a college campus no matter how simple they are. That’s why this video is perfect for cheap costumes that you can just order online. Roxi tries on a bunch of inexpensive (and slightly worrisome) pieces so that you can see how they actually fit before you order one for yourself. Just make sure to order your costume soon, because we all know eBay shipping can take forever.

MissTiffanyMa – Trying on Amazon Halloween Costumes Under $15

This video is the same as Roxi’s, but for Amazon. Since most college students basically survive off of Amazon Prime (and it can be a bit more reliable than eBay), this video is another option for finding an effortless costume online.

MissRemiAshten – 15 DIY Halloween Costumes! Last Minute, Cute and Easy

This video may be from two years ago, but the costume ideas are as relevant as ever. Who doesn’t want to be a Chipotle burrito? Plus, there are so many options, and Remi includes detailed instructions for each one.

LaurDIY – DIY Group Costumes for Your Squad

Finally, I had to include a group costume guide. In this video, Lauren slays again with both the concepts, (especially the Playdough one!) and the steps to make each one. Most of these costumes require minimal DIY work and can be made with items already in your closet.
