Fall has finally hit, and even though the weather leaves much to be desired with temperatures still touching 70, the season of pumpkin spice and great fashion choices is finally here. When we think of fall, we think of pumpkin spice lattes, and pumpkin spice cake and cookies and pumpkin ice cream and sometimes just pumpkins in general. Although pumpkins are festive and create delicious sweet treats, there is so much more that fall has to offer for tasty foods. Here are six fall inspired eats that will satisfy your sweet tooth and make you think twice before you reach for your third pumpkin spice latte.

1. Caramel Apples

When people think fall, they should think apple picking season! Picking apples is not only a fun activity, but can leave you with a bag full of sweet treats. Melt a pot of hot caramel and dip your apples in it. Add any toppings and you are good to go. What could be better than a sweet caramel apple to help you bring in fall?

2. Pecan Pie

People tend to overlook this delicious pie as it is not as popular as apple. Pecan pie is just as delicious and brings a different flavor to the table. Rather than stick to only apple staples, add this fall pie to your mix and you wont regret it.

3. Baked Apples

Fill up an apple with cinnamon, butter, and sugar. What could possibly go wrong? A great twist to a usual apple pie that is single serving style! This is the perfect mix of sweet apple and hot buttery cinnamon. Add some crumble on top to really make the flavor pop.

4. Carrot Spice Cake

Mix the usual fall spices of cinnamon and nutmeg to create a delicious carrot cake that no one can resist. Although carrots are technically a vegetable, they make an amazing fall sweet treat that is especially delicious topped with a cream cheese frosting.

5. Cranberry Pie

Another tasty fall fruit is the delicious tartness of the cranberry. Cranberry pies mixe the perfect amount of sweet and sour to create a refreshing dessert. This is one fall staple I will not be missing out on.

6. Maple Cookies

These treats are Canada’s favorite cookies for a reason, and we should definitely be hopping on that train. Maple cookies are all the deliciousness of maple syrup, but unlike syrup, socially acceptable to eat by the handful.
