At this year’s Oscars, there were two huge elephants in the room. One was addressed right from the start in a killer monologue by Chris Rock. The other was the only actual award I think the general public cared about. Leo finally got his Oscar. Although he’s not my favorite, 22 years is a long time to wait, and I was little terrified to see what he would do next if he hadn’t won. There isn’t much further one can go than sleeping in horse carcasses and eating raw bison liver. He obviously really wanted this.

My only question is who will the world turn to next? For years, the internet has loved making fun of Leo’s lack of little gold men. Before, I could always say that I had as many Oscars as Leonardo DiCaprio. Who will fill that void for me now? This is why I present to you my list of contenders for Leo 2.0.

Harrison Ford

Ford has been in Hollywood for a very impressive 50 years, but has only ever been nominated for one Oscar for his leading role in Witness. Best known as Han Solo or Indiana Jones, the clock is ticking for this 74 year old actor to get on the Academy’s good side.

Helena Bonham Carter

Helena is one of England’s most successful actresses, and her versatility has gained great acclaim and recognition. She, like the others on this list, has been nominated. Most recently, she was nominated in 2010 for her role in The King’s Speech.

Will Smith

Will Smith has had a very successful career since his start on Fresh Prince. He has been nominated for his roles in Ali and Pursuit of Happiness. Hopefully, if he is nominated in the future, he and his family will attend.

Amy Adams

This wide-eyed, Disney princess of a woman has won over many hearts gaining the most momentum from her role of Giselle in Enchanted. She has been nominated an impressive five times, her first time being for Indie movie, Junebug in 2006.

Johnny Depp

Probably one of the most versatile actors in Hollywood, Depp has played anything from a wacky candy factory owner to the Mad Hatter. He has been nominated three times but has never taken home the title.

But, sadly, you know who isn’t on this list? Yes, dear friends. Nicolas Cage has an Oscar.
