This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Northeastern chapter.

Happy Valentine’s day to each and every one one of you! It doesn’t matter if you are single, happy in a relationship, or somewhere in between because it’s complicated because Valentine’s Day is about showing appreciation to the ones you love, but most importantly, yourself. Over the past couple of decades, society has turned Valentine’s day into a Hallmark holiday with fancy dinner dates, and a shower of expensive gifts and flowers for lovers. But reality is, there are a lot of people out there who are single, stuck in the friendzone, or dealing with heartbreak. They too should be able to celebrate Valentine’s Day with friends, family, or with ice cream and chocolate. Here’s a playlist with love songs that encompasses the feeling of falling in love, being in love, and happily in love. There are also other songs for people who are still not over their ex, too scared to love again, stuck in a complicated relationship, has a crush on someone but don’t know how to express their feelings, or people who are so tired of love songs.
