Meet the Staff: Ally Koss, PR Chair & Graphic Design Extraordinar

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Northeastern chapter.
Name: Ally Koss
Nickname: Ally (no one’s called me ‘Allison’ in as long as I can remember)
Age: 21
Year at NU: 4th year Junior
Major: Graphic Design
Hometown: Portland, ME

Where you can find me
Most of my time gets spent designing in the Ryder labs or cheering in the DogHouse at Matthews Arena.

Position at HC
Graphic Design Guru / Contributing Writer / PR & Social Media Chair.. I’m kind of a jack of all trades! I was also just hired as a design intern for HC National, so I’m kind of involved in everything.

What else I’m involved with at NU
Husky Ambassadors and Downhillers Ski Club.

The sports teams I cheer for
Other than my Northeastern Huskies, Bruins, Red Sox, Pats & Celtics. I guess you could say my heart belongs to Boston sports…

What I like to write about
It shouldn’t come as a surprise that I like writing about sports. I have to say, though, the crime log article was one of the most fun articles I think I’ve written to date.

The senior superlative I’d most likely win
Maybe most talkative? I’m not usually one to be quiet.

If I was singing karaoke at Our House, I would sing
I wouldn’t, because if you ask any of my friends, I’m borderline tone deaf.. I wouldn’t subject anyone to that level of bad singing.

Where I’ll be in five years
Hopefully working as a designer for one of my favorite teams, keep your fingers crossed for me!

My favorite spot in Boston
Hands down, Fenway Park. It’s simply magical there. If you haven’t been yet, I highly suggest you go at some point in your life.

My guilty pleasure
Watching the same bad movies over and over again.. Space Jam anyone?

Five things that a Northeastern student should have on their Boston bucket list
1. Go to a Red Sox game at Fenway
2. See the Dropkick Murphy’s on St. Patrick’s Day
3. Spend an entire day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) in the dining hall
4. Attend (at least one) Beanpot tournament
5. Walk around Boston with no destination and take in the beauty of our city
