My favorite thing about Boston
Boston is a great city to be a college student, and I try to make the most of it. There are so many things to love about this place from world-class museums and concert halls to underground basement shows and dive bars. And one of the biggest draws for me was the diversity in this city. I have been fortunate enough to meet people and make friends of all kinds of different backgrounds.
Where I can be found on a Saturday night
I am a typical college student in this case: parties, clubs and bars are my usual fix. But sometimes, I admit, I’ll turn off my phone to stay at home and watch a Bollywood film.
My role model
There is a reporter at the Boston Globe (where I happen to be a co-op) named Maria Cramer, and I hope she never reads this. Maria Cramer is a tough-as-nails, kicking-ass-and-taking-names metro crime reporter. Her job calls for her to walk some of the scariest streets in Boston at all hours of the night talking to witnesses, suspects and criminals. She’s tall and beautiful but can make even the toughest cop wet his pants. And I want to be her.
Where I’ll be in five years
If you couldn’t tell from the previous question, I would one day like to become a bigshot reporter. I have worked hard at the four papers I have written for, and I hope one day to land a position at organization like the Washington Post, Associated Press, or the New York Times. A girl can dream, can’t she?
My favorite spot in Boston
When I want time to myself, I like to sit by Jamaica Pond and look at the duckies. My favorite bar is the Squealing Pig. It’s a nice little Irish pub with a great beer selection and things to do every night of the week. Plus it just looks like a home inside.
My favorite spot in the world
Underwater snorkeling in the Caribbean looking at all of the brightly colored fish and hearing nothing else up above except the clicking and snapping from the krill.
An interesting/fun fact
I am one inch away from qualifying as a midget. My driver’s license says otherwise.
I can play Chopin waltzes and nocturnes.
I was born, grew up in, went to high school, and went to college in different places.
My favorite part of Fall
New England fall is beautiful. We don’t have those in California.
What I’m going to be for Halloween
I’m going to be an Indian… the other Indian.
