Husky in the Spotlight: Jon Dumont

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Northeastern chapter.

General Questions

Nicknames:”Personally, I just go by my first name but a lot of people end up calling me things like Jonny-boy, El Presidente (He cringed while saying this one), and some form of “Jon Dumont” with or without a French accent”.

Ethnicity:”I am half French Canadian and half Japanese, but I’m pretty American. I’m from New Hampshire but I don’t really like hunting or outdoorsy things so I don’t know what I am in terms of American either.

Major/Minor/Concentration:  “I am a Business Administration major with concentrations in Finance and Accounting, and I don’t have a minor.”

Current Co-op:”I am currently working in the Global Income Department as a Global Trading Co-op, so that’s been pretty good so far.”

On Campus Organizations: “So when I am on campus, I typically participate with both the Finance and Investment Club as well as DSP (Delta Sigma Pi, business fraternity). I’m the current president for DSP so I am kind of focusing on Co-op and DSP.”

Personality Questions:

Favorite TV Show: “I’m not going to lie but I am a strong Zoey 101 fan. I can sing the theme song and everything.”

Favorite Yoga Pose: “Warrior 2. Well actually I don’t know, it’s the only one I remember that didn’t cause me extreme pain of some sort.”

Favorite Girl Scout Cookie: “I can easily say Samoas just because anything with coconut and chocolate is kind of heavenly. Growing up, I was THAT kid who would happily trade one KitKat for everyone’s Almond Joys, I just like coconut too much. I also like Thin Mints, but obviously nothing compares to the Samoas.”

Spirit Animal: “I would say that I am an otter, just because they are awesome, cuddly and smart. (For the record, his response to this changed multiple times)”

Claim to Fame Moment: “So growing up I used to play the piano a lot. And one year in high school, I thought it’d be cool to do the talent show with my biology teacher, so I played the piano while he sang “You Raise Me Up” by Josh Groban. We ended up winning and like getting prize money and stuff so that was cool.”
