2020?! More like 20/20 vision, baby! Quite frankly, this is the year you’ll start seeing things clearly, so here’s a list of 5 ways to get the year started off right  (The Rania Kalaaji 5 S’s as I like to call them)!

Set Goals

The best way to start your year off right is by setting it up right. Goals help keep you focused and figure out what it is you really want to accomplish. Try setting goals for multiple aspects of your life and set little benchmarks to reach them to make the process smoother.

Self-Love

This is your year! You are amazing and you deserve everything. I think there is this misconception between being self-centered and having self-love. It is healthy to say positive things to yourself and about yourself. It is healthy to post photos that you feel pretty in. There are always going to be haters out there who will try to put you down, so why not hype yourself up? Embrace every part of yourself, work on the things you want to improve, and accept the things you can’t change. But, above all, let your true self shine.

Self-Care

Didn’t we just talk about self-love? Isn’t this the same thing? It is not. Self-care is about doing things that will make you feel better and cared for. You’re always working hard and doing things for others, so why not take some time to treat yourself! Rest if you need it. Go out if you need it. Do something that will make you happy! Self-care is so important for your physical and mental well-being!

Shed It

This is a PSA: You do not need any toxicity in your life. Shed all of it! It is time to move on from anyone or anything that is adding pain and stress to your life. If you are not enjoying that random club you joined at the involvement fair, let it go and find another one. Life is way too short to spend it being around people and things that only bring you down.

Style

Do everything in style. Own it always. Share your ideas, put your personal touch on all that you do, be proud of yourself, and push yourself to reach new heights! It is so important to try new things and to push yourself to be a better version. If you keep waiting for the right time, it will never come so take a deep breath and go for it! Just make sure to stay true to your unique style no matter what.

Besides being part of Her Campus, she's also in HackBeanpot and Scout. She spends most of her free time watching cringy reality shows, scrolling through Twitter, and going to concerts.
