1. How did you get involved with No Limits Dance Crew (NLDC)? How long have you been with the organization?
I got involved with NLDC my very first semester by seeing it at the Activities Fair and have danced with them ever since! This is my eighth semester dancing with them, and fourth choreographing.
2. What has been your favorite part?
My favorite part has been meeting other dancers who not only have made me a better performer, but have made it so much fun and an amazing way to unwind for a few hours a week. It’s also an amazing feeling being on stage performing your pieces…I’ve always loved that adrenaline rush!
3. Can you tell us a bit about the show this weekend? How are you involved?
There are 2 shows this weekend, of about 20 different dances of all styles–including jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary, and more. I’m in three dances: my co-choreographer Rachel and I’s Jazz to Uptown Funk, a hip hop piece, and a contemporary piece. The show is a lot of fun (and free!)
4. What are your thoughts as a senior going into this recital?
As a senior, I really just want to “leave it all on the stage” as they say. It could be my last time performing for a while, so I really just want to do my best and have a blast. Part of me is also repeatedly telling myself “don’t cry” because I tend to get nostalgic about this stuff
5. Do you hope to continue dancing in your adult/post grad life?
I do hope to continue dancing in any capacity. I know there are “adult” dance troupes in Boston, so if the timing works, maybe I’ll be able to be a part of those.
Tickets for both the Friday 7pm and Saturday 3pm shows are free on myNEU. I can promise you won’t want to miss it!
