The Best Boston Holiday Events

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Northeastern chapter.

December is right around the corner and we all know what that means—the holidays are coming up! By far, the best part of the holidays is spending time with family and friends while doing fun events. Check out these three events happening in Boston this December!

BLINK! Light Show: December 3rd, 2019 – January 1st, 2020

Blink! is a world-famous light and sound show held annually at Faneuil Hall Marketplace near the State T-Stop. This free attraction is not to be missed. In fact, the entirety of the six-week Faneuil Hall show uses as much electricity as a single-family home in one month!

Christmas Tree Lighting: December 5th, 2019

This event takes place at the Boston Common, a mere train ride away from Northeastern. Bring your family, friends, and roommates, and join the city at Boston’s most extravagant tree lighting ceremony!

Illuminus: December 5th – 6th, 2019

Illuminus is a free nighttime festival held at Downtown Crossing (on Washington Street) where local artists, performers, and designers present their creative works through art installations. There’s no better way to take a quick break from studying than to immerse yourself in the diverse culture of Boston for a night!
