Best Bars In Fenway To Watch The World Series (21+)

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Northeastern chapter.

Earlier we told you the best places to hang while the Sox take on the Cardinals in the World Series. For those of us who are privileged enough to be 21+ (as of last week I can now place myself in that category…finally), there are tons of places to watch the game so close to Fenway that you’ll feel like you’re actually there.

While there are hundreds of bars all throughout Boston, there’s nothing like watching it at a bar so close to the ballpark that you can hear the crowd scream before you hear it on TV. Us Huskies have no excuse, Fenway is about a 20 minute walk from campus!

1. Jerry Remy’s
This bar is right in front of Fenway Park on Boylston Street. Not only do they have amazing food (you HAVE to try their nachos and wings!), but they have dozens and dozens of TVs blaring the game. Its big enough inside so you won’t feel claustrophobic and squeezed in, but you’ll still get a community feel with the tons of other Sox fans there. There’s also a roof-top deck with more TVs and an outdoor bar, and gives you a nice view of the park. This is definitely my go-to place to watch any kind of sport, so why not watch come here to watch the Sox play in the World Series in this bar’s backyard?

2. Cask ‘n Flagon/Oliver’s
Not really into the bar scene? Head to Cask ‘n Flagon on the corner of Brookline Avenue and Landsdowne Street. While this is the epitome of a sports bar, it is connected to Oliver’s nightclub. This is the best of both worlds – you can hang out, have a beer and watch the game, and then head over to dance with your friends in the club. When you’re tired of dancing and want to peek at the score, just glance at one of the TVs at Cask ‘n Flagon.

3. Game On!
The name speaks for itself. Just walking into this bar while the game is on will get you pumped up. Come here with your friends and watch the Sox on one of their 90 HD TV’s and watch the game with a cold beer and some food from their lengthy menu.

4. Bleacher Bar
If you can’t handle the fact that you’re not at the game, go to Bleacher Bar. This bar lives directly under the bleachers at Fenway and has a large window that offers an unbeatable look of centerfield. The look of this place can’t help but make you feel that you’ve walked into a piece of history, as it fits the scenery of the 100 year old beloved park. This is definitely the bar to go to if you’re a die-hard Sox fan who doesn’t want to miss a beat of the game.

5. Sweet Carolines
One of the newer bars in the Fenway area, this bar won’t disappoint. It has an outdoor patio, which depending on this unpredictable New England weather you may or may not be able to sit at. The inside is more modern than a typical sports bar, but nonetheless has dozens of TV’s, including three 100” projectors so you’ll have a good view of the game now matter where you’re seated. One wall is decked in greenery, making it Boston’s largest vertical garden, its very own “Green Monster.”
