One Saturday afternoon, searching for a new show to watch on Netflix, I came across the show Quantico. After just the first episode, I fell in love with the main actress, Priyanka Chopra. Naturally, I looked up her Instagram and read articles about this amazingly talented woman. Chopra, no doubt, has had many memorable moments but there are 3 moments that stand out to me as being particularly awe-inspiring.

  • She was crowned Miss World in 2000

After winning Miss India when she was just 17-years-old, Priyanka Chopra won Miss World that same year. Chopra prepared a question to be answered by another finalist during the question and answer section of the pageant.

This question was, “If ignorance is bliss, then why do we seek knowledge?”

Definitely, a tough one to answer.

Chopra was asked a question prepared by Miss Turkey. The question was “Who do you consider to be the most successful woman living in the world today and why?”

Chopra gives a friendly laugh and begins her answer with greeting the audience and then answers, “there are a lot of people who I admire and believe in. But I think one of the most successful women who has achieved a lot not just for herself but other countries I think would be Mother Teresa. I admire her from the bottom of my heart for being so considerate, compassionate, and kind. Giving up her life for people in India, to give up everything she ever had, to make others’ lives beautiful and to bring a smile on peoples face. That’s what I believe in.”

Watch how gracefully she answers this question in the video below:

A fun fact about this is that the question said “living” woman, but Mother Teresa had already passed away 3 years before in 1997. In the Youtube video “73 Questions with Priyanka Chopra” done by Vogue, Chopra says today she would answer Michelle Obama.

  •  She was on the cover of Time Magazine as one of the 100 Most Influential People

In 2016, Priyanka Chopra was featured by Time Magazine as one of the most influential people in the world. Chopra was interviewed by the famous Dwayne Johnson, known as “The Rock”. The video Time made of the interview with Chopra starts with this powerful quote by her.

“I don’t want to be called an actor. I don’t want to be called a star. I don’t want to have a label. I want to have a legacy. I want to be known as someone who has goals and achieves them. Whatever they may be, wherever they might be. I want to be limitless. I want to break stereotypes. I want to go where no man or women has gone before.”— Priyanka Chopra

  • She was selected as a Brand Ambassador for Pantene

Chopra was announced as a Brand Ambassador for Pantene in late 2016. Following the announcement made in December of that year, Refinery29 did an interview with the beautiful Quantico actress.

“For eons, women have been told to look a particular way to please the eye of the other gender, [whereas] I think beauty needs to be about appealing to yourself.” — Priyanka Chopra

Throughout her life, Chopra has been an inspiration for not only women but others as well. Many have said she is one of the hardest working actresses in Hollywood and the Bollywood world. I am just lucky that out of all the shows on Netflix, I clicked on Quantico, and discovered the talent of this amazing lady.
