As of late Greek life has been making its way into national headlines with acts of hazing, racism when it comes to determining who they let in, and using holidays like Halloween to perpetuate stereotypes of black culture in the most vulgar of ways. Unfortunately when it comes to the media the bad actions of a few is always more heavily broadcasted. Inevitably casting everyone in the Greek system under the same light. This being the case, we were happy to see some lighthearted fun these fraternity guys had with lip syncing to Taylor Swifts new hit “Shake it Off.” What made this video even better is that it was done in order to support and raise money for Lite the Night. An organization dedicated to raising money to help pay for treatments for people with Leukemia and Lymphoma. The guys of Delta Sigma Phi – Beta Mu at Transylvania University so far have helped raise 2,900 for Team Torsie with their awesome video. To visit the fund raising page here.

Greek life is not very big here at NU, but the few Greek organizations that we do have on Campus (Phi Sigma Sigma, Alpha Sigma Alpha, and Tau Kappa Epsilon) have all made a big impact on campus with their charity works and their close association to everything connected to NU and the greater Niagara Falls Community. No matter what school you attend, it is always great to check out different clubs, organizations, and Greek life. It is a great way to meet new people and walk away with lifelong friends. In the meantime check out this awesome video that made so many people proud to be a part of Greek life. If you are interested in joining Greek Life here at NU, there is a Greek information meeting September 18th at 7:30 pm in the MPR room in gally!.
