How To Have a Perfectly Basic Fall Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at New Paltz chapter.

Step #1: Jump out of bed, look out your window at the brightly covered leaves that are starting to cover the ground, and walk to your closet to survey all your clothes for 10 minutes.

Can’t figure out what to wear? The perfect basic fall outfit consists of dark wash jeans and a flannel. Throw it on and you’re good to go!

Step #2: Stop by your favorite coffee shop and pick up your preferred fall-flavored beverage. Basic b*tch flavors include, but are not limited to: pumpkin spice, chai, and basically any form of latte…iced, if you are still thinking it’s summer. Enjoy!

Step #3: You’re basically elated when you find out that there is a farmer’s market in town today!

Visit and support your local businesses by picking up all the organic treats you can get your hands on. It’s a much better shopping experience than just going to Stop and Shop, and the basics will be like kids in a candy store.

Step #4: Go apple picking! Or pumpkin picking, or to a corn maze… just go out in a field with your friends and have a photoshoot of you doing cute Fall things for Instagram.

Ignore the stares of the workers and families, they are probably jealous.

Step #5: When you get home, light every single fall-scented candle in your house. You’re doing it right if it smells like pumpkin spice exploded everywhere.

And there you have it–how to have the most perfectly basic fall day! There is absolutely no reason to be ashamed of your love for everything fall and everything pumpkin, and anyone who tells you otherwise is lying to themselves. Now go out and grab yourself that pumpkin spice latte.

And if they call you basic:
