I absolutely love face masks! From homemade to store bought there are many different types and styles of masks. Skin experts debate the validity of some and applaud the benefits of others, but in the end, it’s just a fun indulgence, isn’t it? So, put on your jammies, throw your hair in a pony, and get ready to enjoy your mask!

Reason #1: Relaxation

Putting on a face mask will relax you. The 5  to 10 minutes that it pampers your skin provides you with a great excuse to do something that will make you happy. This could be reading a funny article, meditating, listening to your favorite playlist, or painting your nails. You will find that after your face mask is finished you will be happy and relaxed.

Reason #2: Beneficial

There are face masks for every kind of skin-type. At least, most will hydrate and soften your skin. Couldn’t we all use a little extra moisture after a summer of sun burns and peeling skin? There’s a face mask for that!

Reason #3: Deep Cleaning

All of the makeup, dirt, and grime that cakes your face all day needs to be properly removed. Even if you wash your face ritually, there is still unseen residue on your skin. A face mask is a perfect excuse to focus on deep cleaning the skin all the way down to the pores.

Reason #4: Efficiency

Doing a face mask will make your other skin care products work more efficiently. A thoroughly cleansed face will absorb lotions and serums more efficiently – you will love the noticeable difference.

Reason #5: Selfie Time

Who doesn’t love a perfect selfie moment? Take this time as an opportunity to snap a #realyou photo for your snap story or of your favorite girlfriends as you face mask and catch up on Grey’s Anatomy together.

And there you have it! 5 reasons why you should do a face mask, today! Are you looking for a new face mask to try? Hi there! My name is Lydia and I am a senior student at SUNY New Paltz studying Early Childhood & Childhood Education with a concentration in English. Working with children brings me so much joy and I am excited for my future as a teacher and mentor. SUNY New Paltz is my true home away from home and I feel blessed to be a student here. At SUNY New Paltz, I am a proud member of Kappa Delta Phi National Affiliated Sorority. Being a sorority sister has benefited my college experience greatly and the Greek life community has become my family. I am also a Student Ambassador and Admissions Assistant on campus. I love being a student leader and enjoy working for the admissions department. My favorite TV shows are Gilmore Girls, Fixer Upper, and Downton Abbey. In my free time I like to craft and listen to podcasts. I am also a HUGE Disney fan! My favorite characters are Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head and the Seven Dwarfs, just the dwarfs... no Snow White. You might call me an old soul because of my love for Dean Martin music and classic movies starring Audrey Hepburn, Jerry Lewis, or Gregory Peck. I hope I can share my experiences and stories with you through this profile. Thanks for reading!
