Campus Cutie Couple: Nick and Sarah

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at New Haven chapter.

Meet our newest Campus Cutie Couple, juniors Nick and Sarah!

How did you meet?

Nick: We met at a house in a rundown basement with a fairly large number of people surrounding us. Yes, it was quite romantic

Sarah: We had a class together freshman year, but the romantic location of the old White Street Lax House officially brought us together.

Who initiated the first kiss?

Nick: I manned up and initiated it.

Sarah: Nick did! I’m too much of a nervous wreck to attempt to do that.

How long have you been dating?

Nick: We have been dating since 12/30/2015, but dated for around 4 months sophomore year.

Sarah: Eh, tricky question. I guess technically a month and a half consecutively, but between the first time we got together and this time, it’s been about 5 months (two times the charm, right?)

What has been your most memorable date?

Nick: My most memorable date has been when we went to Pepe’s Pizzeria last year and she got to witness me in my natural habitat down multiple pizzas like it was no problem.

Sarah: Definitely our first date when we went to see Annabelle because we’re both afraid of dolls so we were both freaking out the entire time. It sounds lame, but knowing that he was just as afraid as me made me feel super comfortable with him.

What is your favorite thing about your significant other?

Nick: My favorite thing about Sarah is that she laughs at my jokes and somewhat pretends I am funny to make me feel better about myself.

Sarah: I like that he appreciates my weirdness and always makes sure I’ve got a smile on my face.

Who said “I love you” first?

Nick: That would be me.

Sarah: That’d be Nicholas again, if I didn’t have the guts to kiss him first do you think I’d have the guts to drop the L bomb first? Not a chance.

How do you resolve arguments?

Nick: The girlfriend is always right. Men, just give up when you argue with her.

Sarah: I’m usually right so it doesn’t escalate to an argument.

Do you have any advice to give to new couples?

Nick: Pick a show to watch on Netflix that you both like. It creates the best bonding time.

Sarah: Cuddle. It’s proven to prevent depression, relieve anxiety, and boost your immune system. It’s also a good time to just communicate, I’m pretty convinced that’s why we haven’t had any notable arguments. Cuddling is key.

What celebrity couple are your “goals?”

Nick: Tyler Cashman and Ian Jones is the more realistic answer.

If we are talking long-term, Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield. I know they broke up, but they were pretty cool together.

Sarah: Breezy and Alisha are my relationship goals (Brianna Sirota and Alicia Contelmo), but if we’re talking about real celebrities, I guess I’d have to go with Haley and Nathan from One Tree Hill (fictional characters count, right?!)
