It’s Valentine’s week! This past year has been rough. The COVID-19 pandemic made it tough to meet new people or find that special someone to be your valentine.
If you do have a valentine, COVID might pose challenges for celebrating. Last year I was able to go out for dinner and do fun mini activities such as exploring and staying out at night, but this year is looking a little different.
These past weeks, I’ve been brainstorming date ideas for a COVID-19 Valentine’s Day! While TikTok has been helping with my inspiration, I have added my own little twist on some of my ideas.
- Rock-Paper-Scissors Date
-
You and your Valentine play rock-paper-scissors to decide activities. Appetizers, dinner, dessert, and a destination. The person who wins each round gets to pick what to do! You can modify this to fit you and your style!
- Matching Sweatshirts
-
You and your boo run to the store for a supply run. You will need sweatshirts and iron-on patches. It’s a super fun and cheap way to show off your style and hang out with your person.
- Dinner and a Movie
-
This is an old-timey date idea. You can go out or choose to do this at home. If you’re choosing to stay home, you and your boo can cook a meal together and watch a movie. If movie theaters and restaurants near you are open, that’s another option!
This year I am going to be doing a combination of all of these ideas! Matching sweatshirts, rock-paper-scissors to decide what is for dinner, and a movie!
