One of my treasured traditions, when I am feeling stressed or overwhelmed and need a nice break from the world, is to throw on a movie and eat some popcorn and candy while slipping into another universe filled with my favorite characters. If you’re anything like me, I have curated a list of some of my beloved comfort movies that you may add to your repertoire as well. The list could go on for much longer, however, I feel like this selection sums up my comfort movie tastes and they are my favorite to come back to!

Mrs. Doubtfire

Next on the list is Mrs. Doubtfire, I actually used to fall asleep watching this movie every night on my VCR. Robin Williams’ performance in this film is incredible! Mrs. Doubtfire is a classic everyone should watch at least once.

50 First Dates

Let’s talk about 50 First Dates. My list would not be complete without it! This is usually my go-to comfort movie (because it’s now on Netflix!) as I am obsessed with everything Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler. It’s a tear-jerker but will also make you laugh so hard, the story is beautiful and I think everyone takes a good lesson from it.

Crazy, Stupid, Love

is a new addition to my list! I found it on Netflix recently and figured I would give it a go. I am obsessed! I loved Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone in La La Land so I knew I would love them in this. Throw Steve Carell into the mix accompanied by a great plot twist, and you have magic! Definitely, a must-watch as soon as possible.

A Walk to Remember

I cannot make this list without having at least one Nicholas Sparks film, they’re everyone’s comfort movies! I chose to include A Walk to Remember as it’s one of the lesser talked about Sparks’ films and deserves some recognition (it’s also on Netflix, for easy viewing). The way that Landon and Jaime fall in love throughout the movie is magical and really something to see… Jamie’s way in which she doesn’t care about what the world thinks about her is an amazing outlook to have, the twist thrown into the mix will have you enthralled in their story about young love and most likely in tears by the end of the film.

Miss Congeniality and Legally Blonde

And finally, Miss Congeniality and Legally Blonde deserve some mention. They are both movies I again, was watching way too young, but they became a part of me and my life! Anytime I watch these movies now I just feel like I am back in “simpler times”. Both of these movies are simply iconic, and if you haven’t seen them yet you need to!

I hope you enjoyed this quick little list of movies I watch when I’m feeling down. Now you can add them to your arsenal and feel a little more at peace while watching some of your favorites on screen. Happy watching!
