As Valentine’s Day came and went, I got thinking about love. Love, love, love; more specifically – true love. I became fixated on this subject. In class, at the gym, at work, in the library, eating lunch, I’d be thinking about true love.

Now I truly do love many things. My family, my friends, my peppermint mocha coffee creamer, and Her Campus NCSU, just to name a few. So I decided I wanted to show some true love to one of my favorite Radiohead song’s “True Love Waits.”

“True Love Waits”
by Kara Schmieg

I want to write a love song
To the one and only love song
Your sweet melody nods my head along
Close my eyes and wander far, far away
Found a place, I’d much rather stay

Your scratchy voice is all that I need
To comfort the pain I so desperately want to release
“Just don’t leave, don’t leave
I’m not living, I’m just killing time”
Such a beautiful line

Because “true love waits”
It truly does wait
Forget all the past lovers and their mistakes
Because true love waits
Just wait
