Five Shows to Watch to Get You in the Halloween Spirit

If you are looking to binge a new show that will give all the Halloween vibes, here are some suggestions.

1.The Vampire Diaries

While this show may not necessarily be set during Halloween, the vampires and werewolves will certainly give you the creeps. The Vampire Diaries is about high schooler, Elena Gilbert, whose parents tragically died. She must face life or death situations while in a love triangle with two vampire brothers. This show runs for eight seasons so you can have a show to watch through out the entire month of October. If you can’t get enough of The Vampire Diaries world, the CW also created spinoffs, The Originals and Legacies that follow fan-favorite characters in the show. 2. Pretty Little Liars

If you want another spooky show that doesn’t feature any magic or mythical creatures, you should binge Pretty Little Liars. This cult-following show is about four girls reconnecting because of a mysterious text after their friend, Alison DiLaurentis, goes missing. If you are looking for a mystery that will keep you on the edge of your seats throughout all seven seasons, this is the show to watch this Halloween. Also, this show has the most creepy, but entertaining Halloween themed episodes on television. When you finish the original series and crave a scarier story, luckily for you, a spin off has released this year, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin. You can watch Pretty Little Liars and the spin off only on HBO Max.

3. Sabrina the Teenage Witch

If you are looking for a more light-hearted sitcom to watch this Halloween, Sabrina the Teenage Witch is the show to watch. This classic 1996 show follows the life of a new witch, Sabrina Spellman, as she tries to live her life as a typical high schooler. Her aunts, Zelda and Hilda, teach her to how to harness these elaborate powers for good. This show ran for seven seasons and you can watch them all on streaming services such as Hulu and Paramount+.

4. Scream Queens

Scream Queens is an interesting mix between satire and horror. This show is about Chanel Oberlin who is not liked by majority of people in her university. Because of her sorority has a bad track record, Chanel receives news that her sorority must let everyone in this year. This causes repeated murders that will repetitively keep you on a cliff-hanger but have you laughing at the same time. This show also has a star-studded cast so you are bound to see one of your favorite celebrities. Some of these celebs include Emma Roberts, Lea Michele, Nick Jonas, Ariana Grande, John Stamos and many, many more. This show sadly only ran for two seasons, but it is the perfect show you can finish by Halloween. You can watch Scream Queens on Hulu this Halloween.

5. Wizards of Waverly Place

If you are in this mood for nostalgia, Wizards of Waverly Place is the show to watch. Wizards of Waverly Place is about a family of wizards who are all learning how to use their powers. The wizard siblings get into all types of outrageous situations through out the show. While this show may not be the first thing you think of when talking about Halloween, it is full of spooky characters. This Disney show features all of the Halloween creatures such as wizards, vampires, werewolves, and much more. You can watch Wizards of Waverly Place on Disney+.
