Right now I am sitting between these bitter book-stacks as this article waits for my attention. Right now I can’t focus because my stomach unleashes another thunderous growl. It’s 1:43a.m. and the world is asleep – but I am awake. Working. Writing. Starving. How can I focus right now when my stomach is trying to eat me alive? The coffee shop is closed. The Creamery; closed. Those restaurants on Hillsborough Street are not only costly – but closed too. Right now, only those humming vending machines are an option, but I only have a debit card on me. Food is on my mind and I need a solution fast. Raleigh Munchies is the cure for any late-night-snack-craver!
Who came up with the idea for Raleigh Munchies and how many people “head” the company today?
Two co-founders, Patrick Singletary and Paul Middleton. We do everything from inventory, business planning, advertising, delivery, etc.
Are you NCSU students/alumni?
We both graduated from NCSU.
When was RM established?
RM was established in September of 2011
What kind of services do you offer?
We offer a unique delivery service of ice cream, energy drinks, snacks and convenience items. Our goal is to provide the best of the best, which is why we carry Ben and Jerry’s and Redbull.
What was your main goal or reasoning for starting the company?
Our goal is to become the Wolfpack’s #1 late night delivery service and to cure students with acute or severe cases of the munchies.
What is your most wanted item on “the menu”?
Ben and Jerrys Half Baked and Red Bull
Bite Me! Cookie Delivery is comparable to Raleigh Munchies, but they closed down some time last year, are you worried about facing that same struggle?
We believe that our service fills a key need among the college community. In today’s world of instant texts, emails and Twitter, we understand that college students are busy and that many rely on public transportation. We are not cocky, but know we will do well with our superior customer service.
What are your hours?
We deliver from 8pm to 3am every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
